The 24 Hour Project/Workshop is coming to Southern California and KPCC.
The weekend of June 8 and 9, we'll celebrate all things street photography with an exhibition, workshop and photo walk.
The 24 Hour Project is the world's largest street photography experiment.
On March 23, more than 60 photographers walked the streets of cities around the globe, taking photos for 24 hours straight. Each person posted their best image from each hour.
They'll be joined by seven photographers who take social photography to new heights for a discussion about this new medium for images and how you can better snap photos along with the world.
The goal of The 24 Hour Project/Workshop is to explore the changing world of street photography as image-making goes mobile and social.
We'll be talking about how to take better photos, how to express your own creativity through images and how to share the world you see with others through social photography.
If you want to join us, use the hashtag #24HRWS13 on Instagram to show us what you're working on before, during and after the workshop.
The weekend events will begin with an exhibition of 24 Hour Project photography at Space Gallery in Pomona on June 8 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. On June 9, The 24 Hour Project will lead a walkshop in the early morning in Downtown Los Angeles.
The 24 Hour Project/Workshop kicks off at 1:30 p.m. at KPCC's Crawford Family Forum in Pasadena, Calif. The event is free, but you must RSVP here if you plan to attend.
There will be plenty of time at the workshop for meeting other photographers and sharing tips and techniques.
Once the workshop wraps up at 5 p.m., we'll take the Gold Line or drive back to Downtown Los Angeles for a group photowalk.
